Conservation and Restoration of Antique Period Furniture and Wooden Objects.

Close liaison with our clients begins with an on-site inspection of an object, a detailed and accurate treatment proposal, which is coupled with a comprehensive estimate for the work involved. This level of professionalism continues throughout the treatment of the object concluding with the delivery and handover of the item to Jamie Chatfield.

The client is always welcome to visit the workshop before or during treatment to inspect the work and to have a 'hands on' explanation of the work process.

Bespoke Cabinet Making

Over the years many of our clients have commissioned us to replicate faithful copies of some of their most treasured items of furniture. These items are usually so unique that finding another identical object would be nigh on impossible. We have done this with great success so much so that in conjunction with this service we have decided to make new commissions based on the style of a particular period. We have large stocks of period solid timber and veneers so replicating the colour and quality of timber used on period items is met with ease. However, where possible we will use the finest native timbers such as English Oak, English Brown Oak, Pollarded Oak, English Elm, Burr Elm, Ash and English Fruitwoods.

Selling and Purchasing Select Fine Furniture

As we have long established relationships with our clients we are in a position to offer them our expertise and advice when they improve their collections. This service has been taken forward and developed so that we can take full responsibility for the sale of items from their collections. We are also responsible for the replacement of objects ensuring they make a suitable upgrade both from a historical and monetary perspective.

Manufacture of Soft Furnishing Items

Not only do we use upholsterers who are experts in period re-upholstery but we also offer our clients the possibility of purchasing fine, modern hand made soft furnishing items. Be it handmade beech wood frame sofas upholstered in exceptional modern fabrics to the coordinating of fabrics and interior colour schemes. We have successfully balanced the contrast of antique and modern furnishings for many of our clients.
